All campus community members need a UA NetID and password to get into password-protected areas on the University website.
Your NetID and password verifies your identity on UA systems. DO NOT share your password with parents, boyfriend/girlfriend, roommate, or anyone else! Never email your password to anyone. Visit netid.arizona.edu if you forget your password, or contact the 24/7 IT Support Center at (520) 626-TECH (8324) if you need password or other NetID help.
All UA students need to check their UA email address for official communications. When you create your NetID, it will also create your email address: your UA NetID @email.arizona.edu. You will be able to check your email by logging in to catmail.arizona.edu with your NetID and password. More information on email is available at the UITS CatMail service page.
Are you ready? Visit netid.arizona.edu with your Student ID Number and PIN handy.
Finished? Congratulations! With a UA NetID and email you are ready to take your next steps at the UA! http://nextsteps.arizona.edu
Everything you need to know about computing at the University of Arizona! From your online course materials (D2L), to your email (CatMail), to your registration, bursar's account, and grades (UAccess), you'll need to be online and we can help.
The University's Code of Conduct also applies to your online activity. There are specific campus computing policies related to use of the campus network, campus equiment, and university email. The Residence Life Policy on Acceptable Use of Computers and Networks applies to network use in the residence halls. And to avoid legal difficulties, you also need to know the difference between legal and illegal use and sharing of copyrighted material: visit About Copyright.
The University takes data security seriously. If your computer has been compromised, you may be blocked from the University network. The University offers free anti-virus software to help protect you and the campus network. The Information Security Office has more tips on keeping your private data safe. If you suspect you have a virus or malware, or if you have been blocked from the network, contact the 24/7 IT Support Center.
UITS has a handy guide for setting up your computer at the University of Arizona. It includes: registering your computer for connecting to the University network, connecting to UAWiFi (the secure campus wireless network), setting up your system updates and firewall, and installing the free anti-virus software available. If you need any assistance, contact the 24/7 IT Support Center online or at (520) 626-TECH (8324).
Many departments, colleges, and programs have their own networks, computer labs, workshops, and other information technology resources. Check with your instructor or program coordinator for resources specific to your courses.
